June 2009:
Beam introduces a new system for removing rubber from runway/ taxiway landing lights. The system can be operated by 1 driver from the cab of a Beam sweeper. It does NOT use either high pressure water or chemical additives and so damages neither the light nor the environment. A machine with the system fitted is currently on test at London's Heathrow Airport.
Feb 2009:
Together with our Russian distributor
Cominvest AKMT we are pleased to
announce the delivery of 19 special truck mounted sweepers to the City of Moscow.
The main purpose of the machines is to enable the city to
clean and sweep its streets at temperatures down to -15 C. Cleaning in
such environments presents a major challenge to municipalities in colder
climates.
When temperatures drop below freezing, the use of water to control
dust during sweeping presents a hazard - and in some cases is simply impossible.
The Beam machine overcomes this problem by using a heating system, combined with
water recycling and dust suppression to clean at temperatures below -15 C whilst
controlling dust and preventing any water touching the surface of the road and
freezing. In addition, Cominvest and Beam delivered special truck mounted tram
track cleaning units.

One of Spain's largest contracting businesses - Matinsa - has taken delivery of a Beam S12000 high pressure porous asphalt cleaning machine. The S12000 features a unique water recirculation system that allows for the machine to stay on station for many hours by re-using a single load of water. This offers the customer significant benefits in terms of reduced cost (for water, fuel and waste disposal) and reduced environmental impact. This is the second such machine delivered by Beam in Spain in the last 18 months.
